What my customers say about me There are many people you can call on when your PC needs attention but I believe I offer a uniquely friendly, honest and simple approach. I've been a computer technician since 1993 and understand most of the jargon and complexities of computing, but appreciate that you probably don't. So, I'll never use language you can't understand or talk down to you. I'm just an ordinary bloke who happens to know about computers. Some of the services I provide are listed below. If you can't see what you're looking for, call me... I may still be able to help. All services are available in your own home or small business at a time convenient to you. I carry a stock of the most commonly used spare parts so that your machine can be up and running with a minimum of delay. If necessary, and with your permission, I'll take your PC to my workshop for further attention, returning it as soon as possible. Services (in your own home or small business) Repairs - Is it messed up memory or a dodgy disk drive? Is the power supply faulty? Whatever the hardware problem, I'll diagnose and repair it for you. Printers are relatively cheap these days and often not worth repairing. However, I may well be able to get your printer working without using spare parts by cleaning and or adjusting it. Upgrades - Do you need more memory? a larger hard drive? a faster DVD writer? I can advise on what's required and then supply and fit all kinds of upgrades. Backup Strategies - Are your photos, music and documents backed up? What would happen if your hard drive failed tomorrow?! I will advise on the best methods of backing up and can even write script that will automate the process for you. Web design - Does you small business or club need a website? Do you need to setup an online shop? Don't know where to start? Please give me a call and discuss your requirements. Virus & Spyware removal and control - your PC picks up all sorts of nasties from the internet. Unless they are discovered and removed they can slow down your machine, display annoying pop-ups or, at worst, destroy your data. There's no need to spend money on security products. I can install and demonstrate two or three products that will keep you safe - best of all, they're free. I regularly remove hundreds (yes hundreds!) of items of Spyware from a single machine transforming it's performance. Broadband, home networking etc - Do need help with the bewildering choice of broadband offerings? Have the kids got laptops that need to connect wirelessly? How will your email work? Do you need help setting it all up? Do you want to share your broadband connection and printer with other computers in your home (whilst keeping the network secure)? I can help in all these situations and many more. Got a new PC? - I can set it up for you. Transferring all your data, personal settings, internet connection and emails makes swapping to a new PC a breeze. Secure data erase - If you have an old PC that you're thinking of selling or giving away, you'll want to be sure that your data is completely removed from it first. Using specialist software I can do this for you making it virtually impossible for the data to be recovered. Remote assistance - There is free software available that enables you (or me) to remote control your PC from any other in the world. As long as you can connect to the Internet I can help you remotely. Let me demonstrate this amazing package! Telephone support - Some problems can be fixed over the phone and I'll endeavour to do just that so long as you are happy with this approach. Advice - I will give you impartial, no-nonsense advice on how to achieve your aims in a cost effective way
I've worked in the computer industry since 1993 mainly as a technician but also on helpdesks. I have experience ranging from laptops to midrange servers and from dot-matrix printers to large, continuous sheet, lasers. Over the years I've learnt that great customer service is essential. I've met plenty of talented technicians who although very clever, could not communicate effectively with their customer. That's why I'll always explain everything clearly - in language you'll understand.
